Step Up in the News
| Step One: Step Up Silicon Valley acknowledges that the poverty level in Santa Clara County is greater than the Federal Poverty Level. We use the Family Economic Self-Sufficiency Standard to measure poverty. Santa Clara County's cost of living is higher than other areas in the nation with 25% of its residents living below the poverty level.
Step Two: Step Up Silicon Valley's goal is to find solutions that will cut poverty in Santa Clara County in half by the year 2020. We will do this by analyzing policies and taking action on the factors that cause families to fall into poverty and struggle to make ends meet. Step Three: Step Up Silicon Valley recognizes that no single issue is the cause of poverty and no single strategy is the solution.
