Create the will in the community to cut poverty by increasing awareness, building partnerships, shaping public policy, increasing private and public funding, and integrating services to better meet the needs of the poor.
Our goal is just
Ensure that every resident of the County can secure the food, housing, healthcare, education, and income they need to be self-sufficient and to thrive.
Shaping Public Policy - Advocacy
Step Up Silicon Valley, The Campaign to Cut Poverty urges local officials, the California Legislature, Congress and the Administration to make decisions on programs based on the goal of reducing poverty.
This must be done by investing more in social welfare policies that strengthen nutrition assistance programs, increase access to healthcare, promote greater economic security for the poor and vulnerable, and enable more people to get affordable housing. We want all children and adults to have educational and training opportunities that will stimulate their minds and help them become self-sufficient.
